Looking for 1/18 Diecast Model Cars – ish?
Jon S asks: I would like to start collectinf Diecast Model Cars. I have read many of the other answers, and found that Hot Wheels seems to be the #1 pick. The place by me that sells them has “American Muscle” brand mainly. I want prices to be an average of $ 30 per car. I will pay a little more if they are the more sought after models. I am looking into getting anything from old classic muscle cars (classics, not extremely customized), to the newer Mustangs.. Camaros.. Lamborghini.. ect ect.

scale cars.com has a small store and a great website. They have every kind of model that i look for. they are a little on the expensive side but they are great in detail.

Is there a software to catalog diecast cars and trucks?
John B asks: When you are a collector of diecast, you end up with thousands of cars and not knowing what you have. Would be great to have some type of cataloging software for the diecast collector.

If you are going to wash them in hot soap water – be careful that you don’t loose any decals that may be on them.
make sure the water isn’t too hot.
most important make sure they are dried well – possibly use your blow dryer to make sure the under carriage parts are thoroughly dry before storing them – no rust
also a light spray of furniture polish – would help with the dust accumulation longer.

as a retired truck driver there are a few toy companies that will put your name on any kind of truck you so choose. it could have come from a promotion,or a worker with the company and gave them out?
